My Nutribullet! – New Best Friend…

I have always craved smoothies…..fruit smoothies….such as mango, banana and ooooh strawberry.  Whether it be frozen fruits or fresh fruits, I just cannot get enough.  Take it from me….The Nutribullet gives you the best smoothie ever!  Ever since I bought it last November, I have been “blasting” every week, sometimes up to 4 times a week.  I try new blasts adding something new every time.  The best thing about the Nutribullet is it pulverize everything from veggies to seeds/grains.

I will share with you one of my new favorites ideal for an afternoon snack or any time a day!

Mellow Yellow

  • 1 handful of Spinach
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 2 slices ripe mango
  • Almond milk
  • handful of cashew

Method:  Add all your ingredients to the nutribullet, fill up with almond milk up to the max line and blast.  You will definitely enjoy this rich creamy smoothie.

Enjoy!

So you want to become a PMP ?

Here are six steps to becoming a Project Management Professional.

So you want to become a PMP ?

Yo are probably thinking about  taking this next step in your career if you have a passion for managing or coordinating projects, you have a plethora of knowledge, vast amount of experience and now you want to get certified.  This could be one of your best decisions yet, and it is well worth it! Below I will guide you with six simple steps in becoming certified.

STEP 1. EDUCATE YOURSELF ON THE REQUIREMENTS TO BECOME A PMP

Do your research. you can visit http://www.pmi.org where you will have access to the PMI Credentials Handbook.  This handbook will provide you with valuable insights about the requirements and procedures in applying for the exam and taking the exam.

STEP 2. DETERMINE YOUR ELIGIBILITY

Now that you have read the handbook and you are aware of the requirements, you need to start thinking about how you will document your non overlapping project hours that you have completed within the last 8 years. You can prepare an excel sheet with a list of all your projects, dates, and the tasks you performed on each project.  In doing this you will identify which projects overlap, and which project is more suitable to use to document your project management experience.  (4500 hours if you possess a bachelors degree/7500 hours with a secondary education)

STEP 3. GET FORMAL TRAINING (35 CONTACT HOURS)

You need to show that you have had at least 35 contact hours of Project Management training.  If you DON’T have any formal training in project management then you need to find a Registered Education Provider (R.E.P) who will be able to deliver the course in person or online.

STEP 4. REGISTER FOR THE EXAM

Before you actually go ahead and register for the exam, it makes much sense to also sign up and become a member of PMI global and a local chapter.  In doing so, you not only save money by gaining a generous discount on the exam fee but you gain access to a wealth of information, to include the PMBOK, articles, webinars and other books etc. from experienced Project Managers globally. By joining a local chapter you will have access to information through local project managers who have already completed the journey or new aspirants whom you can study with.

STEP 5. PREPARE FOR THE EXAM

In preparing for your exam you need to have a detailed plan outlining your milestones and the deadline date to do the exam.  You should read the PMBOK at least once, then you can use it as reference throughout using a prep book such as Rita – PMP Exam Prep or Head First PMP.   Be sure to record knowledge gaps, build on your strengths but focus on your weaknesses. You should also take as much mock exam (also available on PMI website) as possible, try to do at least two 4 hour exam, (other online resources) this will help to prepare you in answering 200 multiple choice questions over 4 hrs.

STEP 6 TAKE THE EXAM

On the day of the exam you want to feel rested and relaxed to go over the final hurdle in completing the journey.  It is best not to study the night before the exam, get a good night’s sleep.  Arrive at the test center no later than half an hour before the exam, (remember you want to stay calm and relaxed). Bring with you an official identification, the PMI handbook also gives a list of items that is prohibited from the testing center. In the 15 minutes tutorial you can write down your brain dump.  Exam begins…..(4 hours) always select the best answers, you can mark answers for review, ensure you review all marked for review, remain positive, trust your guts… Pass the Exam….Become Certified!… Good Luck.

Hello world!

So here I was browsing the net and reading articles on how to pass my exam on the first try, and; voila! I discovered wordpress.com.  I am not a usual “blogger” but I just think it would be cool if I had a medium to share tips and insights and to just express myself.

In the coming weeks I will share general tips, do’s and don’ts etc.  Or, something exciting that I have discovered, a new recipe maybe?  The possibilities are endless…….  stay tuned!
